Preserve decimals and original fields without rescaling, monthly aggregation or geography sums. Ember combines national/international sources, aims at gross generation and can use estimates or assumptions. Current publisher methodology was reviewed separately from the retained CSV vintage.

What to keep in mind
- Total TWh differs from the existing WDI kWh/person metric; no population normalization was applied.
- Original publisher release and acquisition dates are unknown. Review/extraction time is a separate event and must not replace either date.
- The retained CSV predates the publisher download format update noted in July2026. It is not labeled current, latest or live.
- This CSV has no row-specific quality flag or note; presence is not independent verification of an underlying source estimate.
- Imports may be carried forward or assumed zero; latest annual figures can include estimates.
- Annual/monthly coverage can differ, including captive generation; monthly sums need not reproduce annual figures.
- Regional totals and 12 country/economy codes outside the current reporting register were excluded; absent country-year rows were not invented.
- CC BY4.0 requires Ember attribution, the licence link and an indication of changes, without added legal/technological restrictions or implied endorsement. No Ember logo permission is claimed.
- This operator-reviewed series is not enabled for cross-country comparison.
